The outline for this board is inspired by sixties-era big wave guns. However, I make these boards for a variety of wave conditions, from big to small point surf. They are also great paddleboards because they incorporate a displacement hull style bottom. I like to ride them with a high aspect fin placed well forward in a box. I also use quite a bit of vee to allow them to get on rail. Surprisingly, these boards work better and better the bigger the surf gets, unless of course it gets too steep (then you need to start angling your take-offs).
